The Treaty of Doaksville, 1834

The Chickasaws were moved into a new piece of land.  The land was west of the land where the Choctaws had settled.  The two tribal lands were later combined.  The lands were named the Choctaw Nation.  Both tribes had the right to settle in any part of the Choctaw Nation.

The treaty also said that a few tribes could still live in the western part of the Chickasaw lands.  The Wichitas, Caddoes, Kiowas, and Comanches could still live there.
